About the Role
Blue Education is seeking a UK-based, Mandarin-speaking Sales Consultant to build relationships with prospective students and families, converting inquiries into clients. This is a consultative sales role requiring education advice, pipeline management, objection handling, and closing skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct consultations with prospective students and parents to understand their academic background, goals, challenges, timelines, priorities and expectations.
- Use thoughtful questioning and active listening to identify both stated and underlying client needs.
- Recommend appropriate Blue Education services and clearly explain the value, rationale and expected client journey.
- Handle questions, concerns and objections professionally, including conversations about price, competing providers and timing.
- Own qualified leads throughout the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry and needs assessment to proposal, follow-up, negotiation and final enrolment.
- Actively progress suitable clients towards a purchasing decision and secure clear next steps after consultations.
- Work towards agreed individual and team revenue, conversion and activity targets.
- Prioritise leads based on suitability, urgency, potential value and likelihood of conversion.
- Maintain consistent and timely follow-up without compromising the premium client experience.
- Build and maintain positive, professional and long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Manage high-quality post-signing handovers to the relevant academic, Student Success, tutor and operations teams.
- Identify appropriate renewal, referral and cross-service opportunities in collaboration with service delivery teams.
- Support Blue Education's UK sales strategy and contribute to events, partnerships and other client acquisition activities.
- Track competitor activity, emerging client needs and relevant market trends, and share actionable insights with the wider team.
- Work with Marketing to improve lead quality, campaign messaging and conversion performance.
- Work closely with academic colleagues to ensure recommendations are academically appropriate and commercially responsible.
- Maintain complete and accurate CRM records, including client needs, proposed solutions, lead stage, expected value, next action, follow-up date and outcome.
- Keep pipeline information current and transparent so that forecasts and conversion performance can be managed effectively.
- Follow company contract, pricing and approval processes accurately and consistently.
Requirements
- Currently based in the UK, or able to relocate to the UK within an agreed timeframe.
- Fluent Mandarin Chinese and professional-level English, both spoken and written.

- Strong client consultation and needs-analysis skills, with the ability to translate client needs into suitable recommendations.
- Commercial confidence: comfortable discussing pricing, handling objections, asking for commitment and following up consistently.
- Strong written communication skills, including polished client emails and proposals.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple client conversations at different stages.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Willingness to work flexibly when required, including occasional evenings, weekends and external events.
- Experience in consultative, solution-based, premium or high-consideration sales.
- Sales experience within education, tutoring, admissions consulting, student recruitment or related services.
- Knowledge of the UK education system, including independent schools, GCSE/IGCSE, A Levels, IB, university admissions or tutoring pathways.
