About the Role

Responsibilities
- Act as a patient ambassador while cleaning assigned areas using appropriate chemicals and following infection control procedures.
- Perform floor care and maintenance, including burnishing, top scrubbing, recoating, stripping, applying new finish, and bonneting.
- Maintain linen levels and ensure positive interactions between linen supply and receiving areas.
- Demonstrate knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Clean assigned areas per the 10 Step Cleaning method and specific requirements.
- Use appropriate chemicals, techniques, and infection control procedures.
- Follow assigned duties for the day.
- Incorporate scripting/GREAT into daily tasks.
- Follow all EPIC policies and procedures.
- Report any maintenance or repairs needed immediately.
- Perform related services such as changing curtains and stocking supplies.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly, and good operating condition.
- Manage inventory levels in each department, including exchange carts and floor carts/closets.
- Restock and deliver clean linen to other parts of the hospital.
- Unload delivery of clean linen and match counts to invoices.
- Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the inventory room.
- Contact Direct Supervisor for any concerns.
- Present yourself professionally and effectively with hospital personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, talking, walking, fit testing.
- Frequent grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking, fit testing.
- Constant fit testing.
- Occasional exposure to bodily fluids/bloodborne, burns, electrical hazards.
- Frequent exposure to chemical and mechanical hazards.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, gases, mists, odors.
