About the Role

The LIRR Technician is responsible for providing dedicated waste removal service exclusively at the Long Island Railroad according to contract specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS, DOT, and LIRR requirements.
  • Operate service cart in accordance with LIRR requirements.
  • Operate motorized pumps to extract waste from holding tanks on train cars.
  • Thoroughly clean holding tanks.
  • Offload waste at an off-site transfer station.
  • Conduct all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Complete annual LIRR Roadway Protections Safety Training.
  • Meet client specific background requirements to obtain security clearance.

Salary/Compensations

  • $22.40 – $31.35 / hour
