About the Role
The Relationship Advisor (RA) manages a portfolio of Commercial Banking Clients, responsible for client onboarding, servicing, and proactive solutioning. The RA serves as the dedicated point of contact for clients' deposit and cash management banking needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead client onboarding, collaborating with Relationship Manager and Product Advisor to understand client strategy and financial needs.
- Conduct onboarding activities including leading client discussions, performing product demos, and setting expectations for data and documentation.
- Gather and validate legal documentation to adhere to KYC requirements based on client's legal entity type.
- Coordinate handoffs to centralized support teams for product fulfillment and keep clients informed of implementation status.
- Proactively engage clients post-onboarding to review services and ensure understanding and utilization.
- Assist more junior RAs with client onboarding.
- Acknowledge and orchestrate fast resolution of in-bound service inquiries.
- Transition service tasks to appropriate support teams for management and resolution, while keeping clients informed.
- Research and resolve complex client inquiries, ensuring solutions meet client needs.
- Leverage client service needs to identify broader solutions.
- Take initiative to resolve complex client inquiries before escalating to Manager.
- Advise clients on risk mitigation strategies to combat money laundering and fraud.
- Manage internal Know Your Client (KYC) for new client onboardings, articulating BSA/AML requirements.
- Support clients in triaging additional information needed to satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Lead client discussions focused on fraud mitigation strategies, recommending controls.
- Collaborate with Relationship Manager and operational partners to triage KYC, Sanction, High Risk Industry, and Fraud alerts.
- Collaborate with client's Relationship Manager and Product Advisor teams to stay apprised of client strategy.
- Advise relationship team on client's service themes and trends.
- Proactively identify opportunities to support client needs based on industry and life stage.
- Conduct proactive client touchpoints to strengthen client relationships.
- Perform client account reviews and facilitate product discussions.
- Position select deposit and cash management services from qualification to close.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of experience in banking/financial services industry or customer service experience OR High School/GED with 5 year of experience.
- Retail branch banking experience (preferred).
- Strong experience building client relationships (preferred).
- Demonstrated organizational skills (preferred).
- Able to prioritize tasks with effective time management in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (preferred).
- Able to work in a team environment and comfortable working independently (preferred).
