About the Role

KIRA is building the future of financial applications in Asia, leveraging AI to make money smart, reliable, and accessible. We are seeking passionate individuals to redefine financial services, moving beyond the status quo to create next-generation products for everyone.

Responsibilities

Own a vertical end-to-end, including outcomes, metrics, and backlog prioritization.
Define acceptance criteria for development and testing.
Shape technical design, focusing on system boundaries, money-movement correctness, third-party integrations, and failure handling.
Manage security, latency, scalability, and recovery aspects of the system.
Make and defend complex trade-offs between correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience.
Integrate regulated constraints, such as licensing scope, CDD/KYC, and data privacy, into product development.
Define and implement AI features, including decision-making, human oversight, evaluation, and handling of uncertainty.
Ensure all AI-generated numbers trace back to real records.
Ship features against external gates, building behind flags and coordinating with partners and regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance/Reconciliation teams.

Requirements

Significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end.
Strong judgment and decisiveness in ambiguous situations.
Ability to balance ambition with technical, regulatory, and operational realities.
Capability to engage effectively with senior engineers.
Solid system design understanding, including boundaries, datastores, queues, APIs, failure modes, and concurrency.
Comfort reading, reviewing, and challenging design documents.
Ability to sketch system architectures and sequences.
Experience in a regulated domain (payments, banking, remittance, insurance) or demonstrable ability to ramp up quickly.
Understanding of the unique challenges of money movement in regulated environments.
Hands-on experience with LLM-based products.
Ability to frame features for evaluation (offline, online, human feedback).
Realistic understanding of AI limitations like hallucination, drift, and data gaps.
Understanding of when AI models should not be in the loop.
Strong English communication skills.
