About the Role
Performs Radiologic procedures in various settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers, adhering to hospital, departmental, and New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of Radiology Department operations.
Responsibilities
- Performs Radiologic procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers.
- Assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operations.
- Responsible for on call in MRI per union contract.
Requirements
- Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health and be registered by ARRT (Radiographer).
- Must obtain ARRT (MRI) credentials within two years.
- Eligibility requirements will be reviewed by employee and manager / supervisor.
- In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered / credentialed.
- Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two (2) months of completing the orientation period.
- Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
- Requires an ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
- Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
