About the Role
We are looking for a Product Analytics Lead to act as the strategic analytics partner to Product Managers, helping define success metrics, experimentation approaches, and raising data literacy across the product organization. You will lead how product analytics is applied by establishing a robust tracking strategy and governance, improving data quality and accessibility, and raising the standard of measurement across teams. You will also play a key role in creating a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Product Managers throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and opportunity assessment through to launch and post-release analysis.
- Help teams define success metrics, leading indicators, guardrail metrics, and measurement plans for new product initiatives.
- Support Product Managers in evaluating outcomes and turning insight into clear recommendations and actions.
- Ensure product decisions are informed by a strong understanding of customer behaviour, product usage, and business impact.
- Drive greater data literacy within the product organisation by helping teams understand what good product measurement looks like.
- Coach Product Managers and stakeholders on interpreting data, selecting appropriate metrics, and using evidence in decision making.
- Encourage a culture where teams use data thoughtfully in discovery, prioritisation, experimentation, and post-release review.
- Evangelise product analytics best practice and champion a consistent, high-quality approach to measurement and insight.
- Create a community around product analytics facilitating the sharing of ideas, best practice and case studies.
- Own and evolve the product analytics tracking strategy across the product organisation.
- Define and maintain best practice for instrumentation, naming conventions, properties, identity structure, and governance standards.
- Work with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure tracking is designed early and implemented correctly.
- Improve confidence in product data by driving consistency, quality, documentation, and governance.
- Ensure analytics platforms are used effectively and sustainably to support product measurement needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Product Analytics role, particularly in a SAAS environment.
- Strong understanding of data implementation principles (including tracking tags/events), product metrics and performance indicators.
- Proven experience of building a data-driven culture within a product organisation and managing change.
- Hands-on experience with modern product analytics platforms such as Heap (preferred), Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, or Google Analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to influence teams to adopt new practices.
- Strong analytical skills capable of identifying trends and delivering actionable insights.
- Familiarity with data platforms including data warehouses & modelling tools such as DBT would be a plus.
- Excels at building positive relationships with stakeholders and sharing knowledge openly within a collaborative team.
- Ability to work with multiple product teams/stakeholders concurrently.
- Confidently communicate findings and recommendations to senior technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
