About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the technical roadmap for the Capital One Travel Core Platform Team. This is a hands-on, builder-focused role requiring a strong engineering background and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive product strategy. You will be responsible for centralizing the shared component library, enabling AI-driven front-end development, modernizing testing and deployment processes, and ensuring the platform is desirable for other teams to build upon. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering, design systems, AI tooling, and platform strategy, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Platform Team's technical roadmap end-to-end, sequencing workstreams into a coherent, prioritized plan.
  • Drive the centralization of the shared component library and migration of all Travel funnels onto it.
  • Lead the AI-driven development unlock, including design-to-code mapping, component metadata for AI grounding, and CI guardrails.
  • Modernize deployment, testing, and observability processes.
  • Prototype and validate technical concepts rapidly using AI tools.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and design-system working sessions as a credible technical peer.
  • Manage the operating cadence, including stakeholder reviews and developer-experience surveys.
  • Translate ambiguous mandates into clear technical requirements and a defensible sequence.
  • Champion engineers and teams who build on and consume the platform, ensuring developer satisfaction and adoption.

Requirements

  • Communication: Clearly articulates priorities, strategies, and tradeoffs to engineers and executives.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Ability to gain partner team buy-in for long-term platform adoption.
  • Technical Acumen: Deeply credible with engineering partners, comfortable in architectural discussions, and fluent in modern front-end platforms, design systems, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Dealing with Ambiguity: Thrives with limited information and a broad mandate, taking initiative and iterating toward clarity.
  • Problem Solving: Drives toward solutions creatively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Customer First: Understands and addresses the pain points of engineers and teams using the platform.
  • Teamwork: Excellent collaborator across disciplines, operating with a community mindset.
  • AI Fluency & Hands-On Prototyping: Direct experience using AI-powered development tools for prototyping and validation.
  • Delivers Business Results: Focuses on key inputs, delivers with quality and timeliness, and optimizes for long-term business and customer value.
  • Simplicity: Finds elegant, simple solutions to complex challenges.
  • Design / UX Sensibility: Has an eye for good design and can reason about user experience.
