About the Role
As a Principal IT Project Manager, you will lead complex software development, SAP, or transformation projects. You will manage external and internal C-level stakeholders and steer global teams using both classic and agile methodologies. Your role involves managing large, strategic projects, planning realization strategies, assembling project teams, and overseeing requirements, scope, and backlog management. You will also build risk management systems, ensure delivery of objectives, and manage project responsibilities towards clients, service providers, and management.
Responsibilities
- Take on management for strategically important and difficult large-scale projects and programs.
- Plan the strategy for the successful realization of large-scale projects and accompany the individual process steps.
- Assemble a project team and ensure that tasks and responsibilities are clearly defined.
- Identify and actively represent potential claims against our customers.
- Manage requirements, scope, and backlog.
- Build an efficient risk management system, identify, and resolve potential obstacles in the process.
- Ensure the delivery of agreed-upon deliverables and successfully navigate difficult project situations.
- Be responsible for your projects towards customers, internal and external service providers, as well as management.
Requirements
- Completed training or a degree in IT or Business.
- At least 10 years of experience in IT project management of software development projects.
- Successfully completed several large projects/programs in different subject areas.
- Experience with projects involving 100+ employees and Near-/Offshore components.
- Experience in creating requirement analyses in complex projects within an agile environment.
- Detailed knowledge of contract, risk, and claim management.
- Experience in Solution Design, Software Architectures, Software Development, Test Automation, and Deployment are advantageous.
- Agile and/or Project Management certificates (PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2, SCRUM, SAFe) are a plus.
- Optional certifications include Six Sigma Black Belt, Design Thinking, COBIT, or similar.
