About the Role
The Assistant Server sets the tone for Sonesta’s mission by always going above and beyond for our guests and coworkers. The server assistant is responsible for the clearing and setting of tables as well as providing assistance to the service team in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Clear, clean, and reset restaurant tables quickly and efficiently throughout service periods.
- Support Servers and Food & Beverage teams by refilling water, delivering supplies, and assisting guest needs as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across dining rooms, service stations, beverage areas, and guest-facing spaces.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of restaurant, banquet, and event spaces as needed.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, silverware, trash, and linens while maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Restock service stations with utensils, napkins, condiments, glassware, and other operational supplies.
- Follow food safety guidelines, sanitation procedures, and hotel operational standards at all times.
- Partner closely with Servers, Bartenders, Culinary teams, and leadership to support smooth restaurant operations and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor dining areas to ensure guests enjoy a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment.
- Help create a positive, team-oriented atmosphere aligned with Sonesta’s People People culture.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, food runner, busser, hotel, or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support the team wherever needed.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and guest experience standards.
- Dependable, proactive, and able to multitask during busy service periods.
- A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest service, and creating memorable dining experiences.
