About the Role
OATH is seeking an ambitious, energetic, and experienced individual to serve as Special Officer. This role provides physical security, safety, loss prevention, and maintenance of order in accordance with agency orders and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Patrols designated areas to maintain order, preserve peace, and safeguard life and property.
- Provides routine information to visitors and directs them to appropriate individuals.
- Prepares and writes incident reports, maintains daily logs, and documents safety hazards.
- Screens employees and visitors, and operates security equipment.
- Ensures health and safety protocols are met by the public.
- Discourages and ejects disorderly persons and arrests violators on premise when appropriate.
- Transports and escorts persons in custody and prepares necessary arrest documentation.
Requirements
- Must be currently serving as a permanent Special Officer with the City of New York.
- Must possess a four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be qualified to serve as a Peace Officer as defined by New York State Criminal Procedure Law.
- Must satisfy New York State training requirements for Peace Officers and obtain certification.
- Must maintain Peace Officer certification throughout employment.
