About the Role
Perform general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained. This role requires weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preventive maintenance, including completion of the Preventive Maintenance checklist.
- Complete minor repair work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl.
- Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacements.
- Assist in checking and making minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets, sinks, and kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters.
- Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed.
- Assist Maintenance Technician or Chief Engineer in any project as directed.
- Respond courteously to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Six months of general maintenance experience using basic hand tools.
- Ability to climb, stand, and walk.
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing approximately 100 lbs.
