About the Role
Fitch is seeking a Director for coverage of the Retail and Consumer sector within its North American Corporates Group. This role offers an opportunity to be a lead coverage analyst at a global rating agency within a team-oriented work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of companies in the Retail & Consumer sectors
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models
- Conduct meetings with Retail & Consumer industry management teams
- Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees
- Communicate rating rationale to external audiences including institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and media via meetings, conference calls, press releases, and written research reports
- Write timely and effective research on topical issues
- Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups
- Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies
- Mentor junior members of the Retail & Consumer sector
- Potential involvement in managerial responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree minimum; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
- CFA/CPA preferred
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including coverage or knowledge of the Retail & Consumer sectors
- Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience is a plus
- Employee management experience is a plus
- Expertise in Excel and Word
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment

- $140,000 - $180,000 (for New York & Chicago roles)
