About the Role
Nurse Technicians in the Emergency Department at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist serve as invaluable care providers, acting as critical points of contact for patients and their families. This full-time evening position focuses on providing compassionate patient care, improving the patient experience, and maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Improve the patient experience.
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment.
- Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team.
- Raise the bar for patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program, with documentation of completion.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights with varying amounts of assistance.
- Must possess dexterity of fingers, hands, arms and feet.
- Must have sensory requirements of speech, touch, vision and hearing to normal range with corrections.
- All roles require on-site presence.
- Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
- NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
