About the Role

This role will lead a cutting-edge research project examining molecular mechanisms in the glomerulus that result in diabetic and non-diabetic kidney disease progression. The project will focus on exploring key functional mechanisms of glomerular cell function and validating the complex relationship between glomerular endothelial cells and podocytes. It will also examine genetic susceptibility to progressive kidney disease and apply gene editing tools for potential curative therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, set-up and run cell biological projects.
  • Experience with protein chemistry, purification, and characterization.
  • Meticulous data documentation and organizational skills.
  • Experience giving presentations of research findings to other members of the scientific community.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, R, and Matlab.
  • Experience documenting, organizing, and tracking multiple ongoing projects.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Organized and diligent with time management and deadlines.
  • Creative in proposing new methods, techniques or approaches.

Requirements

  • Hold a Ph.D. or MD. Ph.D.
  • Experience with cell culture and mice handling.
  • First author publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic, and possess a drive to make a significant impact.
  • Experience with gene editing is highly desired.
