About the Role
The Patient Registration Specialist is responsible for registering patients, gathering complete data for timely reimbursement, collecting out-of-pocket insurance fees, and completing accurate registrations.
Responsibilities
- Interviews patients efficiently and courteously to obtain pertinent demographic and insurance information.
- Secures signatures to ensure timely reimbursement and that consents are signed specific to the service being rendered.
- Completes a proper patient search for new and prior hospital visits to properly identify the correct patient and prevent duplication of medical record numbers.
- Scans insurance cards, scripts, patient identification, and all pertinent documentation.
- Ensures insurance verification is completed via Relay, phone, fax, or insurance website.
- Obtains appropriate authorization and/or referral information per Managed Care guidelines; documents all pertinent information in notes and enters it into the appropriate registration fields.
- Collects co-payments, co-insurance, deductible, and self-pays at point of service as part of Revenue Cycle management.

- Previous registration experience.
- Medical insurance background.

Education Level
- High School diploma or equivalent education required.

Salary/Compensations
- USD $27.19 - USD $27.19 /Hr.
