About the Role
The IRA Coordinator of Residential Supports will collaborate with the Residential Manager to ensure program members comply with OPWDD standards, member satisfaction, and billing requirements. Services must be delivered in line with professional standards, the Case Manager vendor manual, and PCCS policies.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for the rights, preferences, and needs of individuals, promoting independence, self-determination, and inclusion.
- Lead by example in demonstrating compassion, respect, and commitment.
- Ensure high-quality support and access to resources and opportunities.
- Provide supervision and leadership to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
- Mentor DSPs by leading by example and fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Set clear expectations, encourage professional growth, and empower DSPs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals by responding promptly to concerns, incidents, or emergencies.
- Proactively maintain a secure environment.
- Complete and submit all documentation, including incident reports and behavior logs, accurately before the end of each shift.
- Report incidents to the clinical and medical team.
- Keep management informed of individuals' progress, needs, and concerns.
- Attend all required staff meetings, training, and in-service sessions.
- Provide regular reviews and ongoing training to DSPs.
- Oversee the purchase and maintenance of household items and supplies.
- Manage van logs and receipts, ensuring timely submission and review.
- Assist individuals with making purchases and managing finances.
- Plan and schedule activities, meals, and events that reflect individual preferences, needs, and aspirations.
- Ensure all required fire drills are completed and documented.
- Maintain compliance with physical plant requirements and occupancy rights.
- Report and document incidents in accordance with OPWDD guidelines.
- Promptly notify the supervisor and relevant parties of any concerns.
- Assist individuals with medical appointments.
- Ensure all medical encounters are documented.
- Schedule follow-up appointments appropriately.
- Oversee day-to-day operations by completing daily billing.
- Submit receipts for community purchases.
- Manage timekeeping and employee health records.
- Plan and organize meaningful and successful activities, appointments, and outings.
- Delegate tasks as needed.
- Ensure transportation is arranged for appointments, activities, and outings.
- Participate in agency and team meetings.
- Work with natural support and advocates to promote clear communication and collaboration.
- Perform additional duties assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the residential program.
- Provide direct, billable services tailored to each individual’s goals.
- Address coverage or higher-level support needs.
- Model person-centered practices in collaboration with staff.
- In-person participation may be required for meetings, training, events, and program-related activities.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18.
- Experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities required.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and required insurance.
- Use of a personal vehicle, including transporting individuals supported for events or coverage needs, may be required.
- Duties may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
- Staff may also be required to provide direct support to people supported as needed.
