About the Role
This role will lead the data governance strategy for our data warehouse and analytics environment, focusing on platform capabilities that make data discoverable, trusted, and well-managed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our data governance platform, establishing cataloging, lineage, data quality standards, and policy enforcement capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data governance platform.
- Establish cataloging, lineage, data quality standards, and policy enforcement capabilities.
- Translate governance needs into robust, scalable, and user-friendly platform capabilities.
- Drive adoption of governance tooling and manage the required change management.
- Define and track success metrics for governance work, including adoption, coverage, and data quality.
- Use data to prioritize investment and report on impact.
- Lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years professional experience, with 4+ years in product-based roles focusing on data products or platforms (governance, catalog, quality, or analytics platforms preferred).
- Proven experience defining and executing a data governance strategy, from assessment to roadmap and rollout.
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts: data quality standards, metadata management, lineage, stewardship, and policy enforcement.
- Experience with data governance and analytics platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon, Databricks Unity Catalog, or similar).
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Fluency in reading data models, metadata, and lineage representations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive platform adoption across data producers, stewards, and consumers.
- Demonstrated ability to define and track success metrics for governance work.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
