About the Role
Airwallex is seeking an Associate Director, Talent Acquisition to lead the global recruiting function for Product, Design & Solutions Engineering. This high-impact leadership role involves managing a worldwide team of recruiters and partnering with C-level executives to shape hiring strategy and set standards for critical talent acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a global team of recruiters across Product, Design, and Solutions Engineering.
- Build a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the recruiting team.
- Serve as the primary talent partner to the CPO, Global Head of Design, and Global Head of Solutions Engineering.
- Shape hiring strategy and align recruiting plans with business priorities and headcount goals.
- Own market intelligence, candidate insights, and data-driven recommendations for workforce planning.
- Design and optimize recruiting processes, interview frameworks, and assessment standards.
- Improve hiring quality, speed, and candidate experience.
- Use recruiting metrics, pipeline data, and competitive insights to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.
- Partner with Employer Branding, People Partners, and Total Rewards to position Airwallex as an employer of choice.
Requirements
- 12+ years in recruiting, including 5+ years leading global recruiting teams.
- Track record of building high-performing teams.
- Deep experience recruiting for Product Management, Product Strategy, Design, Solutions Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience in a technology or fintech environment.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence C-level and senior leaders on talent acquisition strategy.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using recruiting data, ATS reporting, and pipeline metrics.
- Proven ability to design and implement structured interview frameworks, calibration processes, and candidate assessment standards at scale.
- Experience in a high-growth, global fintech or payments company.
- Familiarity navigating multi-regional hiring across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas.
- Comfort operating in environments with high standards, fast iteration cycles, and evolving priorities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
- Curiosity to learn quickly, adapt fast, and grow through stretch opportunities.
- Genuine passion for building teams that shape the future of financial technology.
