About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join our team on a major Energy from Waste project. This role involves taking ownership of engineering activities and contributing to the construction of a sustainable energy facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform setting out and provide precise dimensional control using surveying equipment.
- Verify accuracy on site, understand tolerances, and ensure construction meets specifications.
- Identify additional works, support commercial processes, and understand contract obligations.
- Interpret technical drawings, coordinate construction information, and raise RFIs.
- Manage and update drawings, specifications, as-built information, and document control systems.
- Supervise junior engineers, operatives, and subcontractors to ensure safe and compliant work delivery.
- Implement quality procedures, prepare ITPs, conduct inspections, and raise NCRs.
- Support environmental compliance by understanding site impacts and applying project environmental plans.
- Monitor progress, assist with short-term planning, and prepare material take-offs and productivity reports.
- Assist with temporary works, including inspections, low-risk design, and preparing design briefs.
Requirements
- HNC or above in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Approximately 4 years of experience on major civil, energy, and infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of surveying, setting out, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in interpreting drawings, technical reports, and specifications.
- Competence with digital tools including AutoCAD/BricsCAD, Word, Excel, and document control systems.
- Experience in inspecting and testing construction materials.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety, safe systems of work, and common site regulations.
