About the Role
Wells Fargo Equipment Finance is seeking a Head of Dealer Finance to lead its national Dealer Finance Platform. This role is responsible for strategy, growth, and financial performance, aiming to unify commercial capabilities, expand the portfolio, strengthen relationships, and position Wells Fargo as a primary capital provider for dealers.
Responsibilities
- Lead functional area teams by making strategic decisions to resolve complex issues and meet high-risk deliverables.
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate to higher complexity and risk.
- Review and analyze complex client portfolios for issues related to cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, debt coverage, collateral, and repayment sources.
- Develop product education and strategies to anticipate and understand client businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions.
- Manage multiple products, specialties, or teams, providing leadership for complex modifications, renewals, and refinancings.
- Assess client financial positions and risk levels for both prospective and existing clients.
- Collaborate with and influence professionals at all levels, including senior leadership, to resolve complex scenarios and unique challenges.
- Synthesize industry and economic trends, including legal and regulatory issues, for portfolio reviews and problem loan resolutions.
- Serve as an expert advisor to leadership across the enterprise.
- Partner with product management to provide vision and industry expertise on client and market needs.
- Enable large-scale company-wide strategies that significantly influence financial operations.
- Ensure portfolio setup and management adhere to credit policies and compliance requirements.
- Prepare for periodic exams by internal and external auditors.
- Manage the allocation of people and financial resources to meet commitments and align with strategic objectives.
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of secured or specialized lending relationship management, portfolio management, or leadership experience, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience.
Skills
- Deep expertise in equipment finance, dealer finance, inventory finance, or commercial lending.
- Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed teams and complex business platforms.
- Strong strategic planning, portfolio management, and risk management capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and expand dealer, OEM, and client relationships.
- Executive presence with experience influencing senior leaders and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth and risk-adjusted returns.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and talent development skills.
- Experience managing through changing market conditions while balancing growth and credit quality.
