About the Role

As a Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in delivering smarter, safer, and more cost-effective insurance solutions by leveraging advanced analytics and AI to assess risk, optimize underwriting processes, and create tailored policies. You will manage and develop a large business portfolio, mentor junior team members, and contribute to team targets, while also helping to unlock growth into new market segments and support the ambition to become one of the UK’s largest fleet MGAs. You will use AI in the underwriting process to extract risk data and triage cases faster, allowing more time for experienced judgment calls.

Offer insurance solutions for emerging mobility trends
Support the ambition to become one of the UK’s largest fleet MGAs
Use AI in the underwriting process to pull risk data out of submissions and triage cases faster
Build strong and supportive relationships with insurance brokers
Collate data and provide support to the Head of Underwriting to monitor and analyse the portfolio
Provide feedback and continuously improve the process for gathering risk information from clients
Ensure frictionless quoting and onboarding for clients and brokers
Identify and surface areas for improvement in policy wording and coverage to the Underwriting Manager
Follow rapidly evolving market trends and refurbish knowledge of cutting-edge products and services in Motor Fleet
Actively train and develop members of the Underwriting and operations teams
Promote Underwriting knowledge across Flock
Use AI in underwriting work, such as extracting and checking risk information or speeding up quoting
Apply own judgment on every decision
Work closely with product teams to ensure product, process, and customer journey enhancements are included within the product roadmap

Requirements

Extensive experience underwriting motor fleet insurance
Track record of building strong and supportive relationships with insurance brokers
Ability to collate data and provide support to our Head of Underwriting
Comfortable using AI in underwriting work
Experience in dealing with large corporate customers
ACII qualified or working towards
Experience of working closely with product teams
