About the Role
Join St. Joseph Hospital, a community-focused hospital, to provide essential painting and surface preparation services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare various surfaces for finishes, including plaster, masonry, wood, metal, and plastics.
- Mix and apply spackle or plaster to obtain smooth surfaces.
- Mix and apply cement to small areas.
- Use sanding equipment and other hand tools for finishing surfaces.
- Mix paint colors, understanding various paint types and applications (latex, vinyl, alkyds, oil-based, epoxies).
- Efficiently use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Prepare, install, and repair wall surfaces and wall coverings.
- Spackle and tape sheetrock joints and install metal corner beads.
- Install protective strips such as rubber and metal corner guards, and rubber/vinyl base.
- Use proper masking and correct solvents/mixing agents.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks including cleaning, rubbish removal, and equipment moving.
- Stand and work for prolonged periods.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Understand and exhibit understanding of the hospital’s Mandatory Program, fire/safety program, and infection control practices.
- Observe hospital dress code and wear identification badge.
- Learn new tasks, accept new duties, and adjust to new procedures.
- Show interest, enthusiasm, and cooperation.
- Choose appropriate courses of action and seek guidance when needed.
- Commit to the values expressed in NIH’s Mission Statement.
- Perform assigned tasks with initiative.

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a painter.
- Able to prepare forms and work logs.
