About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a growing investment consulting practice at an early stage, providing direct exposure to Lead Advisors and senior leadership, ownership of client relationships, and a clear path for growth as the team scales. The Associate's primary responsibility is to support Lead Advisors in managing ultra-high-net-worth client relationships, anticipating needs, advising clients, providing operational assistance, and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s financial situation, including their goals, time horizon, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance.
  • Support Lead Advisors across all aspects of managing ultra-high-net-worth client relationships, anticipating client needs and delivering proactive, high-touch service.
  • Collaborate on the systematic preparation of investment recommendations, portfolio construction, and rebalancing to ensure asset allocation is aligned with client goals and objectives.
  • Articulate the firm’s investment philosophy and adhere to the investment process, asset allocation models, and manager selection, leveraging internal resources.
  • Support financial planning analysis and assist with the preparation of client meeting materials and deliverables.
  • Develop an understanding of how trusts, LLCs, and other family entities are structured, operate, and their purpose within each client’s broader wealth plan.
  • Review performance reports for accuracy and articulate the details and concepts within the report.
  • Coordinate with clients’ tax and legal advisors on planning matters, including estate and wealth-transfer considerations, in partnership with the Lead Advisor.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Advisor to onboard new clients, assist in opening and titling new client accounts, and confirm addition to the reporting portal.
  • Process and monitor client transactions, proactively communicating completion or issues with team members.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other advisors and teams on best practices, goals, and initiatives for the practice.
  • Seek ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance technical, interpersonal, and business development skills.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in wealth management, private wealth, or financial planning.
  • Experience advising or supporting ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
  • Working knowledge of trusts, LLCs, and other family entities — how they are structured, how they operate, and their purpose within a wealth plan.
  • Background in portfolio construction and management.
  • Strong financial planning skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-service mindset and the discretion and professionalism appropriate for a UHNW clientele.
  • Performance reporting software experience — Black Diamond preferred; Addepar experience a plus.
  • Alternative data management software — Arch preferred.
  • Financial planning software — MoneyGuidePro preferred.
  • Experience with Schwab as custodian.
  • CFA or CFP designation, or meaningful progress toward either.
  • Experience working with family offices — single-family, multi-family, or an outsourced/embedded family office model.
  • Familiarity with estate and wealth-transfer planning concepts.
  • Working understanding of income, gift, and estate tax as they relate to planning, and comfort coordinating with clients’ tax and legal advisors.
  • Exposure to alternative investments (private equity, private credit, hedge funds, direct/co-investments).
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
  • Will not consider candidates requiring sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
