About the Role

The Commercial Credit Analyst II - Private Banking builds upon foundational credit experience by taking on more complex underwriting and portfolio management responsibilities. This role plays a key part in supporting Credit Products Specialists in assessing credit risk, structuring commercial loans, and monitoring portfolio performance. Analysts are expected to independently conduct financial analysis, prepare risk ratings, and provide insights on credit decisions, while continuing to refine industry expertise and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Spread financial statements and assess trends.
  • Generate risk ratings and accompanying analyses.
  • Track and review covenant compliance and borrowing base reports.
  • Conduct annual and periodic portfolio reviews.
  • Perform ongoing credit due diligence.
  • Assist Credit Products Specialists in structuring new loans and modifications.
  • Support the preparation of credit approval memoranda.
  • Prepare market and collateral analysis.
  • Order and review due diligence reports (e.g., appraisals, environmental reports, credit reports).
  • Participate in credit training programs.
  • Attend deal screen meetings to gain exposure to credit decision-making.
  • Engage in mentoring opportunities with senior team members.
  • Assist with updating credit policies and procedures.
  • Develop efficiencies in credit analysis workflows.
  • Support ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems.
  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.
  • Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 1+ Years of experience.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and credit risk fundamentals.
  • Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and assess risk factors.
  • Ensures accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Works effectively with internal teams; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, basic financial modeling), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to develop expertise in commercial lending and credit risk.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights.
  • Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
