About the Role
DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager with strong product sense to lead the development of transportation and logistics strategies for long-distance deliveries across the US. This role involves overseeing a team responsible for both new initiatives and scaling existing businesses, impacting merchant growth and driver earnings. The team's work spans mobile, backend, and web components, including integrations with external aggregators and developing an in-house TMS, with the ultimate goal of building industry-leading mid-mile transportation and logistics systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance, leadership, and development for a team of 8+ engineers across Android, FullStack, and Backend.
- Own the hiring process for the team in partnership with recruiting to grow a diverse and inclusive team.
- Collaborate with business and engineering leaders at multinational corporations to understand business needs and formulate them into a world-class product.
- Engage with key internal business stakeholders to define the roadmap and vision for the product.
- Partner with analytics and data counterparts to measure the impact and success of products and features delivered.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in people management, ideally leading a team size of 8+ and managing senior engineers.
- Prior experience working on a user-facing product.
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a product-focused development environment.
