About the Role

This role is responsible for assessing, researching, and analyzing business and technical application requirements to support and resolve systems issues. The Lead Application Administrator will support one to many applications and their associated technical environment, providing functional guidance or managing daily activity of a small team. This role partners across Technology & Operations projects, technical teams, business partners, and external vendors, with opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology teams to pilot and integrate with RBC networks.

Responsibilities

  • DR planning and participation in DR tests, including setup, maintenance, and cutover.
  • Implement and support new software versions and systems software across development, QA, Production, and DR environments.
  • Provide technical assistance with projects.
  • Incident and Problem Management, including post-incident analysis.
  • Research and implement new technology based on project and support needs.
  • Set up and support workflow and job scheduler software.
  • Set up, administer, and support interfaces and APIs.
  • Middleware configuration, administration, and support.
  • Application environmental set up, administration, and support.
  • SLA management and reporting for applications.
  • Application support, issue management, and escalation.
  • Liaise with vendors, T&I, and business users.
  • Utilize specialist knowledge in specific applications and support environments.
  • Understand application use and access.
  • Assist with the Technology Lifecycle Management Program for technology asset management.
  • Lead small technical teams in assigned tasks.
  • Perform an advisory role for more junior positions.
  • Define user access management, provide training on data elements, and manage data audit processes.
  • Lead a team of data engineers and full stack developers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibilities in requirements management on large and complex projects/programs.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Middleware Technology.
  • Teamwork and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL (change/incident/problem management).
