About the Role
In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering, resolving complex problems and planning projects with significant impact. You will also supervise staff, mentor junior engineers, and produce constructible contract documents meeting client standards.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity
- Plan and develop projects or design activities with a significant impact on major company programs as needed
- Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians
- Mentor and help develop younger staff
- Put together a full set of Contract Documents (plans and specifications) that are constructible and meets client(s) standards as applicable
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience in design calculations and layouts
- Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
- Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
