About the Role
You will develop new applications from scratch, take responsibility for ongoing systems, and update legacy applications. Your work will be used by real customers daily, and you will see the long-term impact of your code. There are opportunities for growth into a Lead Developer and eventually a CTO role.
Responsibilities
- Develop diverse custom software.
- Implement REST APIs and interfaces to business applications and third-party systems.
- Take long-term responsibility for applications, including updates, security patches, performance optimization, and monitoring.
- Work with a modern tech stack: Laravel, Livewire, MySQL, Redis, Docker, FrankenPHP, Caddy, Azure/AWS.
- Work according to Scrum with DevOps boards and conduct team code reviews.
- Coordinate directly with long-term clients.
Requirements
- Completed apprenticeship as a specialist in application development, a degree in IT, or a comparable qualification.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in PHP development.
- Significant involvement in at least two PHP software projects that are or have been in productive use.
- Very good knowledge of Laravel (Eloquent, Queues, Testing, etc.).
- Experience with at least one JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, React, or Alpine.js.
- Proficient in MySQL and clean database design.
- Experience with Docker Compose is part of your daily development routine; experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience with Azure or AWS is a plus.
- Proficient Git workflow with pull requests and code reviews.
- Experience with REST APIs and interfaces to third-party systems.
- Enthusiasm for lifelong learning: new technologies, programming languages, and frameworks.
- Reliability, independent work style, and hands-on mentality.
- German language skills at C1 level (project language with most clients is German).
