About the Role

This position performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks in areas such as employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and equal employment opportunity/affirmative action. The Personnel Assistant may conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical and secretarial duties.
  • Assist with compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, and EEO procedures and policy administration.
  • Operate general office equipment such as typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile.
  • Process identification issuance requests and issue identification badges for building and system access.
  • Issue DoD CAC Card.
  • Conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be clearable to get a Federal Clearance.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to clients and other employees.
  • Ability to organize work, define and solve problems, establish and manage priorities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to analyze a situation analytically, evaluate facts/data and formulate a plan of action.
  • Must have an initiated National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) and a favorable completion of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check, or a eDoD-determined equivalent investigation.

Skills

  • Operational knowledge and/or experience processing identification issuance requests.
  • Operational knowledge and/or experience issuing identification badges for building and system access.
  • Knowledge of DoD CAC Card issuance policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of DEERS/RAPIDS Training.

Experience Level

  • Minimum 2 years administrative military personnel experience preferred.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma, GED or High School equivalent
  • Certificates of Completion proving successful completion of all required DEERS/RAPIDS Training.
