Responsibilities
- Make hands-on code contributions to back-end applications within an Agile development team.
- Lead a team of 3-5 developers, providing expert technical leadership and support in simplifying complex technical challenges.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
- Facilitate growth and continuous improvement through leading by example, mentorship, and timely feedback.
- Experiment with emerging technologies and proof of concepts to help shape technical direction.
Requirements
- Strong, hands-on experience with building modern Java cloud applications (12 factor applications).
- Practical experience shipping various types of back-end applications (API, messaging, persistence, etc.) to production leveraging cloud native platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
- Proficiency with leading a team through the full development lifecycle, from design to code to production.
- Familiarity with various Agile delivery methodologies and SDLC optimization.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture.
- 3-5+ years of industry experience in senior or lead-level development roles.
- Experience with applying emerging AI tools and techniques to generate production code.
- Experience with system monitoring, introspection and observability (Splunk, Dynatrace, ELK, etc.).
- Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, MQ).
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems design (load balancing, discovery, resiliency, backpressure, performance tradeoffs).
- Knowledge of the banking or financial services domain, especially money movement.
