About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in ensuring a great guest and colleague experience by maintaining the building, its equipment, and all physical assets.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, systems, and facilities, including painting, woodworking, and concrete repair.
- Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms and equipment such as laundry machines, HVAC units, ice machines, spa equipment, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers, kitchen appliances, and plumbing.
- Perform swimming pool and spa maintenance according to specifications and local health regulations.
- Assist with seasonal outdoor work, including lawn mowing and snow removal.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the engineering shop and work areas.
- Log readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
- Communicate room status changes to Front Desk and Housekeeping.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Fire Alarms/Life Safety Systems and handle emergencies.
- Assist other departments with moving furniture and storing supplies.
- Provide safe transportation to guests using the hotel shuttle vehicle.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 months of related experience in engineering and maintenance.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team and complete tasks individually.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Solid organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
