About the Role
The Senior Planning and Business Intelligence Analyst role supports the Unit’s work through data analysis, benchmarking, and market and competitor analysis. This role is crucial for informing and facilitating the delivery of the University's strategy and enabling evidence-based decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Support the annual planning round through the provision of market intelligence.
- Assist new programme development and viability.
- Work in close collaboration with the broader planning team.
- Support the wider operations of the directorate.
- Develop the university’s Tableau platform to support business intelligence and enable evidence-based decision making.
Requirements
- Experience of data analysis / business intelligence.
- Experience using tools such as Alteryx and Tableau.
- Experience delivering high-quality reports and dashboards that communicate clear insights to key stakeholders.
- Highly numerate with experience of analysing a range of different types of data (student / staff / financial).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proactive, contribute to department initiatives, adaptable and eager to learn.

- SPPU operates centrally in the University, reporting directly into the University’s Deputy President (Operations) and working closely with the University Senior Leadership team.
- The directorates activities include strategy formation and deployment, academic and financial planning, business intelligence, student management information, statutory assurance, performance, benchmarking, and league table analysis.
