About the Role
Oversees staff performance competency, monitors quality and productivity, and ensures compliance with divisional standards. Analyzes departmental processes for system enhancements, assists in problem-solving, and develops solutions. Responsible for creating and maintaining an education program for revenue cycle employees, including systems and process training. Assists management with developing audit tools, processes, and corrective action plans. Requires a thorough understanding of comprehensive Revenue Cycle operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the competency of staff performance
- Monitors performance quality and productivity standards by reviewing system input
- Ensures compliance to divisional standards
- Analyzes departmental processes for the purpose of implementing enhanced system functionality
- Assists in identifying problem causes, designing solutions, modifying the application or process, testing, implementation and documentation of the solution
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an education program for new and current revenue cycle employees, which may include systems and process training
- Responsible for assisting management with the development of audit tools and processes
- May also assist in the development of corrective action plans as needed
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs
- For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills
Requirements
- 3 - 4 years in an acute care hospital revenue cycle department with extensive knowledge of Patient Access, Coding, Charge Entry/Audit and Patient Accounting functions (Required)
- Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) within 12 months of hire
