About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Thames team, part of Galliford Try. In this role, you will manage the commercial administration, reporting, and performance on a single large project or several smaller schemes. You’ll play a key part in ensuring financial control, contractual compliance, and successful delivery. This position involves travel across named project locations, so flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with company standards.
Produce subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms, conditions, prices, and programmes.
Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
Issue all commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required by the contract.
Manage change in line with contractual requirements, including Compensation Event Quotations.
Prepare, submit, and agree monthly applications to the client.
Liaise with operational and engineering teams to maintain accurate site records.
Produce and present detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
Maintain a detailed cost plan, tracking and forecasting expenditure, including subcontractor liabilities.
Interpret and evaluate expenditure reports from internal cost systems.
Lead weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors.
Support estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.

Requirements

Strong understanding of standard forms of contract.
Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, and experience with CEMAR and Oracle systems.
Solid knowledge of construction processes.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
First-class time management and organisational skills.
Experience managing large projects or multiple smaller schemes.
Commercially astute with strong analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Flexible and willing to travel extensively.
CSCS card holder.
