Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality early learning program with evidence-based curriculum.
- Deliver early learning experiences across various subject matters suited to children's needs.
- Develop and implement individual educational plans to support children's holistic development.
- Establish a developmentally appropriate and growth-fostering classroom environment.
- Conduct ongoing observation and authentic assessment of children, documenting progress.
- Collaborate with the teaching team and Education Director to review data and achieve goals.
- Partner with the family engagement specialist to promote children's goals.
- Engage with parents and develop activities to promote their involvement in education.
- Facilitate reflective supervision for classroom staff and volunteers.
- Attend trainings, engage in coaching, and develop professional development plans.
- Implement programming requirements according to funding and model standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, including equipment and supplies.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and family involvement practices.
- Experience in early childhood programs and/or policy.
- Ability to utilize and provide reflective supervision.
- Ability to communicate cooperatively, respectfully, and openly to change.
- Advanced English language and grammar skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines, stay organized, and work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience working successfully in multicultural environments with vulnerable populations.
- Proficiency in multiple software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to the mission and programs of SCO Family of Services.
