Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality early learning program with evidence-based curriculum.
  • Deliver early learning experiences across various subject matters suited to children's needs.
  • Develop and implement individual educational plans to support children's holistic development.
  • Establish a developmentally appropriate and growth-fostering classroom environment.
  • Conduct ongoing observation and authentic assessment of children, documenting progress.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and Education Director to review data and achieve goals.
  • Partner with the family engagement specialist to promote children's goals.
  • Engage with parents and develop activities to promote their involvement in education.
  • Facilitate reflective supervision for classroom staff and volunteers.
  • Attend trainings, engage in coaching, and develop professional development plans.
  • Implement programming requirements according to funding and model standards.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, including equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and family involvement practices.
  • Experience in early childhood programs and/or policy.
  • Ability to utilize and provide reflective supervision.
  • Ability to communicate cooperatively, respectfully, and openly to change.
  • Advanced English language and grammar skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, stay organized, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience working successfully in multicultural environments with vulnerable populations.
  • Proficiency in multiple software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to the mission and programs of SCO Family of Services.
  • Strong belief in people's ability to grow and change.
  • Ability to forge respectful partnerships with individuals served and their families.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
