About the Role
CSI Sands (N.E.) operates state-of-the-art processing facilities to produce industrial silica sand products. We are currently searching for a General Accountant to complement our team located in Buffalo, NY.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the monthly close process and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Perform cash tracking and forecasting.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary financial data for analysis and reporting.
- Monitor and evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
- Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets.
- Review, prepare, and ensure payment of Federal, State, and other applicable taxes.
- Perform other related accounting duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- 2 to 5+ years of related experience.
- A college or university diploma/degree, majoring in finance or accounting.
- CPA designation would be an asset.
- Experience within the trucking, heavy hauling, or mining industries would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to build and maintain great relationships with managers, co-workers, and owners.
