About the Role

Cognito Systems, a joint venture with Planned Systems International (PSI), is seeking an Athletic Trainer for the U.S. Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at Fort Drum, New York. This role is crucial for a human performance optimization initiative aimed at increasing ACFT pass rates, reducing injuries, and improving behavioral health.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team including physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, dietitians, cognitive performance experts, and occupational therapists.
  • Deliver prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries to contribute to soldier readiness.
  • Engage in performance optimization strategies addressing physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual readiness domains.
  • Support unit leaders with evidence-based strategies to reduce injuries, promote recovery, and enhance overall unit readiness.
  • Leverage data and tools from the Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT) to track and improve performance outcomes.
  • Improve soldier performance, ACFT pass rates, and resilience across the force.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Current physical and immunizations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Must be able to spend time on feet, in the elements, while carrying supplies.

Experience Level

  • Two years of relevant Athletic Training work experience within the last three years.
  • Experience working with active populations (e.g. military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health).

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
  • Passing score from the BOC for the Athletic Trainer.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide healthcare within the scope of practice for Athletic Trainers per state practice acts.
  • Athletic trainers will be required to obtain in-state licensure as part of the onboarding process.

Salary/Compensations

  • $60,000-$66,900 per year
