About the Role

The Financial Advisor Associate (FAA) works with TD Wealth prospects and clients to attract and retain clients by addressing their wealth management advisory needs. The FAA will analyze financial information, educate clients on investment and insurance strategies, and recommend personalized solutions to meet their financial objectives. This role requires broad knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and strong interpersonal skills to build lasting client relationships. As a fiduciary, the FAA will prioritize client interests, provide objective financial advice, and manage client relationships through ongoing consultation and account servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager and financial advisor for TD Wealth clients.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage all aspects of the client relationship with TD Wealth.
  • Attract and develop clients by addressing their wealth management advisory needs.
  • Analyze client and prospect financial information, goals, and circumstances to provide individualized financial advice.
  • Build a client base through ongoing acquisition of new clients.
  • Educate and advise prospects and clients regarding investment and insurance strategies and products.
  • Retain and grow the client base through relationship management and ongoing communication.
  • Recommend personalized investment and insurance strategies and products.
  • Meet quarterly and annual objectives.
  • Utilize Salesforce, Money Guide Pro, and other authorized software to track client engagement and provide advice.
  • Ensure a complete onboarding experience for new clients, including discovery, financial needs analysis, and document completion.
  • Provide education, coaching, and referral training to Retail and Small Business staff.
  • Implement a process for periodic client contacts and Annual Client Review (ACR) meetings.
  • Deepen wallet share by anticipating client needs and suggesting appropriate Wealth solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to refer business to Retail and Small Business/Commercial Partners.
  • Execute business activities in compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, SRO regulations, and Firm policies.
  • Ensure all Continuing Education requirements are attained.
  • Understand and adhere to TD Bank & TD Wealth Policies and Procedures.
  • Implement TD’s Customer Identification Program (CIP) and perform Customer Due Diligence.
  • Develop understanding of client’s assets and transition higher threshold clients to appropriate HNW Wealth partners.
  • Foster and contribute to a positive and constructive work environment.
  • Contribute individually and as a team member to ensure strong performance, collaboration, and enthusiasm.
  • Represent TD Wealth to the general public in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate involvement in the community and support for TDBG charity and community initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, relevant college degree or completion of the FAA Trainee program.
  • SIE & Series 7 required.
  • Required to have L&H and Series 66 (or equivalent) or the ability to obtain all within the Licensing and Registration Schedule.
  • Self-directed, with strong ability to plan own activities to achieve sales and referral goals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of wealth products and services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel within assigned market to meet prospects, clients and partners five days a week.
  • Ability to commute within assigned territory.
  • Understanding of wealth management business development techniques.
  • Understanding and experience interacting with retail and small business banking clients.
  • Consultative sales experience required.
  • Ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with other departments.
  • Must be eligible for employment under standards established by FINRA.
  • Satisfactory results on a criminal background check, credit report check, civil litigation search, and regulatory agency or self-regulatory organization enforcement action search.
  • Statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority or self-regulatory organization are required by federal law for this position.
