About the Role
The Vice President, Relationship Manager for Emerging Tech Deposit & Payment Solutions (DPS) is responsible for sourcing, managing, and expanding client relationships to drive revenue growth. This role supports Emerging Technology clients with annual revenues under $250 million, developing new deposit, treasury management, and payment opportunities while retaining and deepening existing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage non-credit risk across a customer portfolio that may include the bank’s most complex financial transactions, relationships, deposit structures, and payment solutions.
- Monitor and enhance the profitability of assigned relationships.
- Build deeper relationships with existing customers by understanding their businesses and identifying appropriate deposit and payment solutions.
- Recommend product and service solutions based on analysis of customer needs and data.
- Provide consultative solutions to Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT), FinTech, and Digital Assets customers.
- Resolve customer issues and serve as a liaison with departments, divisions, and subsidiaries involved in managing the customer’s relationship with the bank.
- Prospects for new deposits, treasury management, payment, and related business opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies that address customer needs through deposit, cash management, asset management, trust and custody, fund services, investment, and other appropriate bank products and services.
- Coordinate with product partners to implement solutions and ensure superior service from all areas of the bank.
- Capitalize cross-sell opportunities through broad knowledge of bank products and services.
- Serve as the liaison between the TMT, FinTech, and Digital Assets groups and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Build credibility with internal stakeholders, including portfolio management, credit risk management, and product partners.
- Work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships.
- Deliver strong presentations and written communications to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in finance, accounting or other related field
- 8+ years commercial deposit gathering and relationship management experience with emerging technology companies.
- Subject-matter expertise and experience working with clients in the emerging technology sector with companies with annual revenues under 250 million, including early stage investment period.
- Familiarity with Embedded Payments (FBO solution) for tech companies.
- Excellent sales management with demonstrated results in supporting business development initiatives and driving new client acquisitions
- Considerable knowledge and experience in managing and growing a large portfolio of emerging and mid corporate clients.
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships and credibility with internal stakeholders (portfolio management/credit risk management/product partners)
- Proven ability to continuously grow revenues in a client – facing role
- Possess a broad knowledge of bank products and services that result in successfully capitalizing on all opportunities to cross-sell the bank’s products
- Capable of providing consultative solutions to TMT and Fin-Tech customers
- General working knowledge of commercial credit, particularly with ACH credit exposure.
- Maintains the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships
- Resolves customer problems and acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and subsidiaries in managing the customer’s relationship with the bank
- Strong leadership and strategic management skills
- Well-developed analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation
