About the Role

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Securitized Product Group Technology team, you will be a subject matter expert (SME) for a specific area of trade pre-trade, trade capture, pricing, and real-time risk & pnl stream of work. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

Responsibilities

  • Programming and problem-solving with 100% hands-on development, support, bug fixes, and user management.
  • Design and develop trading tools, technical solutions, and streamline the technological stack across pre-trade, trade capture, and pricing domains of the FICC asset class.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of legacy systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the success of transformation initiatives and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Drive the design and development of new systems, and deep dive into existing systems and processes to propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with wider SPG Trading, Risk, and P&L teams to build scalable and robust solutions that support business needs.
  • Quickly develop proof-of-concept solutions to prove the feasibility of technological solutions.
  • Proactively communicate to management and business stakeholders.
  • Lead pilot projects to test new technologies and methodologies, evaluating their potential impact on the firm.
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience in Java, Core Spring Framework, including sub-projects like Spring Boot and Spring Cloud. Python or C++ are also acceptable.
  • Experience in developing software using Kafka, IBM MQ, Tibco, and AMPS as messaging hubs.
  • Experience in developing transformation projects with the latest technological skills in the Fixed Income trading system domain.
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
  • Experience in working on complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability.
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
