About the Role

Eaton’s EPG CPD PCD Power Components Division is seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist to perform a variety of set up, operation, inspection, and preventative maintenance tasks on machinery in a parts manufacturing environment. The role focuses on cost-effective machining practices, including scrap reduction and setup time minimization.

Responsibilities

• Perform set up, operation, inspection, and preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Strive for cost-effective machining practices, eliminating scrap and reducing set up time.
• Receive instructions and perform operations as per supervisor, engineer, or programmer.
• Set up, adjust, and maintain production machinery.
• Operate machinery to modify parts according to specifications and ensure quality standards.
• Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with specifications and edit part programs if necessary.
• Develop fixtures, clamping devices, and non-standard machine tooling.
• Maintain production and inventory records using a personal computer, including run-time data, S.P.C., and machine program downloading.
• Perform specified preventative maintenance.
• Follow and maintain safety rules and practices.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Successful completion of a certified and/or in-house apprenticeship program, trade school certificate, and/or 2+ years of CNC machining experience.
