About the Role
The Supervisory Risk & Controls team within Global Banking & Markets (GBM) manages controls covering supervisory related risks arising from business activities in the Global Banking & Markets (GBM) division. The team partners with businesses to implement controls, support ongoing monitoring and oversight, as well as related supervisory tools to manage risk. We are looking for an individual to drive the expansion of the program to cover business activities in GBM Private, focusing on the Capital Solutions Group (CSG).
Responsibilities
- Develop understanding of Capital Solutions Group (CSG) business activities
- Develop the supervisory framework for CSG business activities, including appropriate desk controls, monitoring & tools
- Define appropriate controls to manage risk, including supervisor expectations and escalation
- Define governance processes to drive monitoring & oversight for the covered controls
- Build relationships with relevant stakeholder groups to implement the program, including bankers, Compliance, Engineering, Legal and others, as relevant
- Represent the team in relevant governance forums to demonstrate 1st line monitoring & engagement with business teams
- Engage with GBM Public side teams to drive consistency across the divisional supervisory program and related monitoring
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8-10 years of relevant work experience with specific knowledge of supervisory frameworks or exposure to regulatory implementation
- Prior knowledge of banking activities including financing, origination, structuring & underwriting preferred
- Prior experience in working with Engineering to lead data strategy and uplift of controls
- Familiarity with securities markets, derivative products, deal flows
- Expert in translating and analyzing data to perform root cause / trending / impact analyses to drive recommendations and decision making
- Strong time and project management/organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle a fast-paced environment; communicate factually and influentially
- Experience managing projects and building and maintaining stakeholder relationships; communicating with influence
