About the Role
High Flying Foods is redefining airport dining and is looking for a Line Cook to float between our Gott’s Roadside and Farmerbrown restaurants at San Francisco International Airport. This position requires availability from 1:00pm–11:30pm on Sundays and Mondays. You will join a dynamic and positive team while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate food to order according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Follow safety protocols and kitchen practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Set up and maintain an organized, clean kitchen station daily.
- Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO to maintain quality and freshness.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Complete prep lists and other kitchen checklists before service begins.
- Execute cleaning duties to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
- Communicate with the manager at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Perform other tasks as required to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working as a line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Open availability from 1:00pm-11:30pm on Sundays and Mondays.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and managers.
- Ability to memorize and follow recipes, accurately measure ingredients, and adhere to food preparation guidelines.
- Demonstrated skill in knife handling and proficiency with kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices.
- A valid Food Handler’s Card (or willingness to obtain during training as required by law).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and kneel for duration of shift.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting while ensuring high-quality results.
