About the Role

Microsoft AI's health team aims to empower millions of users to better understand and manage their health. We are building transformative LLM-based products for copilot.com and the wider Microsoft ecosystem, establishing Copilot as a leader in safe, informative, and trustworthy health information.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key cross-functional team member and collaborator with product teams.
  • Translate research into benchmarks and co-author product roadmaps.
  • Design and build evaluation systems for LLM capabilities in healthcare.
  • Interpret and communicate evaluation results.
  • Run experiments to assess the impact of different prompting techniques on benchmarks.
  • Improve internal tooling for implementing, running, and analyzing evaluations.
  • Design internal benchmarking and regression testing for model accuracy, safety, and utility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Higher Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Significant Python programming experience and/or machine learning research.
  • Experience building with and around LLMs, including prompt/context and harness engineering.
  • Deep expertise in evaluating and understanding agent performance.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams, navigating ambiguity to deliver high-quality results.
  • 0 to 1 experience with a bias towards shipping and learning, while maintaining a high-quality bar.
  • Proven ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and team growth.
  • Experience in healthcare technology or the health domain (preferred).
  • Experience with data engineering, including sourcing, curation, and processing text datasets at scale (preferred).
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills for close collaboration with cross-functional teams (preferred).
