About the Role

The Prevention Coordinator will support the National Guard Bureau (NG), J1 Warrior Resiliency & Fitness (WRF) Substance Abuse Program (SAP), and Suicide Prevention Program (SPP), accelerating healthcare delivery and providing superior force health readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quarterly information briefings on state and national level Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention.
  • Input SAP and SP training and applicable information into DAMIS and ALURRT within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Electronically report all scheduled SAP and SP training within 48 hours of training completion.
  • Input all assessment/referral and treatment data of Service Members into DAMIS within 24 hours of appointment, updating as required per their treatment plan/schedule.
  • Coordinate and conduct SAP Training (including annual prevention, targeted prevention, ADAPT/Prime for Life/MyPrime training and certifications) and SP Training (including annual prevention and ACE-SI) for Service members, families, and ARNG units.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated instructing and briefing skills, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and metric development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus a minimum of four years of practical experience in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, or Resilience, and program and case management, or 10 years of practical experience.
  • Experience in instructing and briefing skills, demonstrating flexibility with various audiences.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule as duties require, including many weekends when state units are conducting training.
  • Ability to pass a background check and be eligible to obtain a Contractor Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Managerial and/or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in substance abuse and suicide prevention programs is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with the National Guard or similar organizations is desirable.
  • Advanced certifications or training in related fields is desirable.
