About the Role
This position involves overseeing inmate labor and team members in a food service operation within a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve food items according to menus and work instructions, utilizing various kitchen equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
- Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
- Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
- Train other food service workers.
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
- Lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience required.
