About the Role

The Tools & Portals team within Epic Online Services is seeking a Web Engineer Intern to contribute to production systems across the full stack. This role offers hands-on experience with modern web development, backend services, cloud infrastructure, and AI-assisted software development.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack features using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS with guidance.
• Contribute to the development of backend services and APIs using Next.js, NestJS, and Node.js.
• Learn and apply development practices for production infrastructure including AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Write, test, review, and deploy production code alongside experienced engineers.
• Learn and apply AI-assisted software development workflows throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to internal tools and developer-facing platforms used across Epic Games.

Requirements

• Interest in full-stack web development and learning modern engineering technologies.
• Some familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar web technologies through coursework, projects, or previous experience.
• Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and contribute to solving well-defined engineering problems.
• Willingness to explore new technologies and codebases, seek support when needed, and incorporate feedback.
• Ability to work effectively with guidance, communicate questions and blockers, and incorporate feedback.
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work closely with engineers, product partners, external teams, and stakeholders.
• Understanding of defined requirements and willingness to ask clarifying questions when needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including sharing progress and incorporating feedback.
• Interest in using AI tools and AI-assisted workflows as part of software development.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the posting location for the duration of the internship.
