About the Role
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will conduct requirements gathering sessions and other BA activities with a large, diverse set of Product Controllers and Finance Controllers for medium to large project initiatives. This role requires understanding various Capital Market Products, differentiating trade economics, and mapping source data to WSB applications. Excellent communication skills are essential for extensive interpersonal interaction across all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
- Undertake BA responsibilities of multiple strategic applications involving Capital Market Products.
- Understand various financial products traded on Markets in RBC and how they have been modeled.
- Analyze existing data models built on MS Access and co-relate Business requirements to gaps in Data models and build solutions.
- Analyze and document Business and Functional requirements from business stakeholders.
- Lead and facilitate collaborative sessions with business stakeholders to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review.
- Get familiar with current data models and systems.
- Perform data analysis and reverse engineering to access current and future states and perform gap analysis.
- Identify upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Construct data flow diagrams, business, and system context diagrams, and create design solutions.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure full understanding and proper execution of requirements.
- Provide hands-on support during various testing cycles including Functional Testing, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Adopt Agile methodologies for periodic implementations.
- Manage risks, assumptions, and constraints for requirements and communicate to appropriate parties.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of Business Systems Analysis experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and Excel for data analysis.
- Good Capital Markets product knowledge, particularly derivatives.
- Proven Data Analysis experience and project delivery in the financial service industry, preferably in MS Access.
- Understanding and experience in software development life-cycle.
- Excellent communication skills are critical for this role.
- Able to quickly and effectively gather, synthesize and drive resolution of project tasks in a cross-functional team.
- Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Teamwork & Collaboration – Have principals, disagree if needed, and brainstorm.
- Analytical and creative thinker.
- Ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions.
- Detailed oriented with strong problem solving skills.
- Expert time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Familiarity with coding languages like JAVA, .Net.
