About the Role

Merola Opera Program seeks a Marketing & Membership Manager to direct marketing across all channels, serve as the primary lead for annual fundraising appeals and patron communications, and own the full marketing toolkit for a legacy arts organization while growing as a strategist and storyteller.

Responsibilities

  • Lead copy, design, scheduling, and multi-channel execution for annual appeal cycles and membership renewals.
  • Manage the public and donor-facing communications calendar.
  • Lead all email campaigns, including copy, layout, scheduling, and segmentation, while coordinating list trades.
  • Maintain and enhance Merola's website, managing SEO and site analytics.
  • Manage Merola's social media presence, content calendar, and partner collaborations.
  • Produce copy and oversee the design and production of print and digital publications, managing vendors and timelines.
  • Coordinate with marketing and PR consultants on the annual advertising plan.
  • Maintain brand guidelines across all internal and external channels.
  • Serve as primary liaison with the box office vendor, overseeing comp allocations, sales tracking, and ticket builds.
  • Capture and manage ticketing and patron data in the CRM to inform marketing strategy.
  • Serve as point of contact for PR consultants and internal lead on communications and press materials.
  • Produce, edit, and manage all photo and video assets, including usage rights.
  • Share responsibility for all member inquiries, monitoring the membership inbox for timely, accurate responses.
  • Support gift processing and CRM management of donor records.
  • Report on marketing and patron performance metrics, tracking KPIs, revenue, and retention goals.
  • Work closely with leadership, staff, and consultants on strategy and messaging.
  • Assist with all Merola events and performances.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in marketing, communications, development, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with close attention to detail and brand voice.
  • Experience with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), social scheduling tools, and a website CMS (e.g., WordPress).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and SEO/SEM best practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce, PatronManager, or other CRM tools strongly preferred.
  • Comfort managing donor and member relationships with warmth and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated success managing multifaceted campaigns with competing deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Deep interest in opera and the performing arts, with a commitment to Merola's mission.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during events.
